PhD OPPORTUNITY MARINE HOLOBIONTS: Impacts of environmental change on host-associated microbiomes
Algaebase We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join a research project funded by the Australian Research Council, focused on understanding the role microbes play on the functioning and resilience of dominant, habitat-forming holobionts in coastal systems. The project involves a multidisciplinary team of scientists with expertise in the fields of environmental microbiology and experimental field ecology. The overall aim is to determine the effect of microbial diversity and function on the performance and resilience of kelp forests that dominate intertidal and subtidal temperate reefs.
