International Diatom Symposium June 25th to 30th 2018 Berlin Venue: Seminaris Hotel As Symposium time is coming closer, news about it are here!  Schedule is open for viewing at this link . Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only one session, Friday has parallel sessions . If you have submitted an abstract, look here to see whether it is correctly assigned to either talk or poster. If incorrect, please contact the Berlin team immediately! Timetable for young diatomists: Tuesday: 18.30h informal get-together of the Young diatomists, where we will present the work of the Young ISDR core team (short, we promise) and network between young diatomists. Silly doodle Workshops As you know, if you follow this blog, we have been preparing 4 workshops for the International Diatom Symposium in Berlin. On Saturday 30th of June we will have the following workshop programmes available for you: Young Diatomists Workshops Berlin IDS 2018 30 th June (Saturday, 9-17h) DNA and taxonomy (9-12 h): Edward Theriot & David Mann ( 27 students inscriptions on May 16th ) Lectures (2 hours) 1.       Taxon selection, alignment, phylogenetic analysis and hypothesis testing – theoretical, conceptual part ( E. First announcement: Dear young diatomists, As you may already know, we have been organizing a workshop day at the end of the International Diatom Symposium in Berlin (June 30th). As you voted, the topics that will be taught are: In the morning: How to publish and review a paper, by Eileen Cox DNA Taxonomy, by Edward Theriot and David G. Mann In the afternoon: Ecology and Bioindication, by Maria Kahlert and Rosa Trobajo Paleoecology and Statistics, by Suzanne McGowan and TBA. We have already prepared a way for you to inscribe to our workshop, via the Google Form ( link ). Please feel free to register to those 2 workshops that you feel most interested by.  Keep in mind, that the workshops will be given in parallel sessions, so that you will not be able to attend to the two of either morning or afternoon.
