Young diatomists

Welcome to the Young Diatomists blog!

This is the website and blog where Young Diatomists (early career researchers) from the International Society for Diatom Research (ISDR) can exchange information, publications and links. Big news will be announced.

If you have any questions or want to contact us, write us!

Early-career Diatomists?

1- Are you a master or phd student?
2- Are you a postdoc with less than 5 yr after your graduation? (time-frame purely flexible)

If so, you might want to be engaged in the Young Diatomists section of the ISDR (International Society of Diatom Research)

Which are the advantages of becoming a Young Diatomist?

  • Propose suggestions to the local organizers of International Diatom Symposium (IDS) meetings about topics that might be of interest for us: workshops, talks, courses, etc.
  • Participate in courses and workshops supported by the ISDR board that might be held either pre or post the main conference, or during the general IDS meetings
  • Participate in activities aimed to create networks between young and senior researchers
  • Collaborate in active networks in the field of diatom research that help to establish future collaborations among young researchers and share information
