| International Diatom Symposium June 25th to 30th 2018 Berlin Venue: Seminaris Hotel |
Schedule is open for viewing at this link. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only one session, Friday has parallel sessions.
If you have submitted an abstract, look here to see whether it is correctly assigned to either talk or poster. If incorrect, please contact the Berlin team immediately!
Timetable for young diatomists:
Tuesday: 18.30h informal get-together of the Young diatomists, where we will present the work of the Young ISDR core team (short, we promise) and network between young diatomists. News and mixer (with free drinks and nibbles). Afterwards we will go to a Biergarten (your own charge, information on location coming soon!). Join in if you like! Don't worry, if you have already enrolled for the alternative walking tour, it is not mandatory to come and have fun with us (you can have fun and enjoy the city).
Thursday: 12.15-13.00h Speedtalks, enroll here if you want to present your research in a fun way for 2 minutes! (Great prizes for both preDocs and postDocs, deadline is in June). After that, we will hold the election to vote for the Early Career Representative (ECR). If you cannot attend the Symposium but want to become the new ECR, you can send a presentation slide to youngdiatomists@gmail.com. Otherwise, if you attend, decide spontaneously if you want to throw your hat into the ring.
Saturday: we will have our workshops:
Morning (9-12h)
DNA Taxonomy (E. Theriot and D. G. Mann)
How to publish a paper (E. Cox)
Afternoon (14-17h)
Ecology/Bioindication (M. Lambert and R. Trobajo)
Palaeoecology and Statistics (S. McGowan)
